Children & Youth

Youth Group - Our 6th– 12th grade youth meet for fun, fellowship, worship, and service.  We also mix in fundraisers to fund projects and Summer Conferences at Montreat. Look for announcements in the newsletter for activity schedules, or for more information contact the church office.

Basketball – First Presbyterian currently has three basketball teams in the York County Christian Basketball Association: children ages 5 – 8 (Biddies), girls 13 and Under, and Junior Boys, 15 and under. Weekly practice and games begin in January and run through March. The children learn not just the rules of basketball, but how we can "Glorify God on the Court" through sportsmanship and fellowship with other churches. Look for announcements in the newsletter for organization and game schedules, or contact the church office.

Eggstravaganza – Everyone can get involved by donating individually wrapped candies and plastic eggs. Our Youth group hides the eggs, and ALL children 5th grade and under can bring their baskets for the hunt. Come early for refreshments, face painting, games, and dying eggs and decorating cupcakes or cookies. Look for more information in the newsletter and bulletin.

Trunk or Treat – Our annual Trunk or Treat is held the Sunday afternoon before Halloween in the church Parking Lot and Hopkins Hall. Children come dressed in their favorite costume and congregation members come prepared to battle it out for the best decorated trunk. The Red Cross also brings their Bloodmobile each year so that adults can make a donation. Fun for all ages and supports a good cause!! Look for more information in the newsletter and bulletin.

Live Nativity - Each year our PPresbyterian Kids host a Live Nativity celebration in coordination with our church wide Christmas Dinner. Children of all ages participate (in costume) to bring Christ's birth to life for our congregation. The Christmas Dinner is held the Third Sunday in December. Look for more information in the newsletter and bulletin.
