CHILDREN & YOUTH

Sunday School Classes

All Sunday School classes meet at 10am during the School Year.

Our Sunday School classes follow the Milestone Ministry curriculum. Milestone Ministry is a multi-generational educational program that allows children to develop strong foundations at every age, and build upon them as they grow.

Every lesson will touch on the following areas:

  • Theological and Biblical Knowledge
  • Worship skills and Musical Knowledge
  • Spiritual life, Stewardship, and Ministry

For an overview of what your child will discover in our Milestone Ministry program, click here.

Crib Room (infants - 2 yrs.): Room 111

This is a warm and welcoming place for our youngest church members. We play with toys, read books, listen to music, and have a snack. We begin to introduce the concepts of Jesus’ love for each of us and encourage sharing and kindness.

Preschool & Younger PK's (3 yrs. thru Kindergarten): Room 112

We enjoy lots of love and lots of play with our younger PK's. We play, listen to our Bible stories, make crafts, and play some more.

First, Second, Third, Fourth & Fifth Grade: Room 219

We enjoy learning about prayer, worship, faith and stewardship through Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments and creating visual reminders of the stories learned. Come discover the Bible with us!

Youth Class: Room 118

Our youth enjoy fellowship, food, and conversations about our faith

each Sunday morning.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School at First Pres is for the whole family! Programming for all ages, preschool to adults. A crib room is provided.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation class helps young people explore their faith journey and articulate their faith in Christ Jesus. When a child is baptized in the Presbyterian Church, the parents and the congregation make a promise to nurture that child in the Christian Faith. Once a child reaches 7th grade, Confirmation provides them with the opportunity to claim that faith as their own. Led by the pastor, it is a time of study of our faith, traditions, and practices within the Presbyterian Church (USA). The participants will discover how to become a faithful member of the congregation in its worship, study, and service. The class culminates with a profession of faith, as participants become full members of the church.

Worship at The Lord's Table

The primary purpose of this class is to teach children (2nd grade and up) about the meaning of Communion, but we also discuss all aspects of worship. Classes cover the following: Worship Space and Church Seasons, The Order of Worship and the Importance of the Word, and The Sacraments: Baptism and Communion. It’s a great way for children to learn the dynamics and the purpose of our worship here at First Presbyterian.
